The rape of a travel blogger by multiple men has triggered a nationwide outcry over one of India's rampant problems: a decades-long struggle to curb rising sexual violence against women.
This is one of those things like talent in Canada that can't make it big until they make it in the US or international 1st. India will never reform until it sees why it must on the international stage. Seems absurd but rape is endemic to their system and domestically it will never be reformed because that is the way it has always been. It is only until they are forced to compare their justice with the rest of the world do they see just how absurd that is.
India is sadly, one of those places you just don't go if you're a woman.
And while I'm against the death penalty, I think in India's case, the only way to begin to get a handle on the systemic rape in the culture there, is to start putting rapists up against the wall.
