Massive fire breaks out, explosions heard at recycling facility in Saint John, N.B.

Crews are battling a large fire that broke out at the American Iron and Metal recycling facility early Thursday morning. Port Saint John has activated its emergency response plan.

From my limited firefighting training - you can't put out a metal fire with water, or normal chemicals. You have to use fine powdered salt, or sand. And lots and lots of it.
