Here’s hoping that it’s a small outbreak and not an other pandemic!!! Also maybe we should bring back the smallpox vaccine into the regularly scheduled list.
It's passed through close contact, so outbreaks are highly unlikely. So long as the infected isolate, like they are being told to.
If a virus like this can travel from West Africa to Edmonton this easily, then stopping Covid which is airborne - by closing the borders was never a thing.
Do you actually believe that people will do as they were told. Some nutbar will decide they are above all that crap…. Then we find out whether delta and the pox can have a horribly mutant child…. Isn’t that how the movie goes?

Given the last 2 years, I think 70% of people do what they are told, if they think it is best for everyone and comes from a reliable source. 5% will ignore all advice given to them, because it goes against their 'common sense', whatever that means. 25% will remain skeptical, and change their habits based on what they see happening. YMMV.
The news is such a ray of sunshine

Trifecta unlocked!
I wonder how much protection us old geezers who received the Smallpox vaccine have against Monkeypox?
A little, most likely. They are similar, and don't mutate. But, as you say, it's been a while since our immune systems saw them.
