Most MPs and advocates who spoke to The Hill Times connected this resurgence in hate to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Liberal MP Han Dong noting that communities have come together in response.

I don't get that line of reasoning. I'm no fan of China and anything they do. I think
they're arrogant, uncontrolled, and dangerous, just to name a few. I'm as pissed as the
pandemic as the next person, and I think China mishandled every goddamn facet of the
    virus and then some.

    BUT...

China and the people I dislike are over there. Canadians of Chinese descent are over
here, and I bear them no ill will. I service several Chinese-Canadian businesses every
day, and they are nice to me, so I am nice to them. I'm not going to hold anyone here
responsible for something those egotistical morons did OVER THERE.

    It's not only ridiculous, but counter-productive. And, it's a coward's way out.

People are tired, frustrated and angry over this whole and looking for an outlet to direct blame to but placing that on people of Asian descent is wrong and disgraceful.

Bigots don't need reasons as they are tribal in their reactionary responses.

As the saying goes, if you listen to fools the mob rules.

The government is always the best outlet, and also my personal favourite

I’d rather they channel their irrational anger at people who refuse to wear masks or still have huge parties.

So, calling it the 'China Flu' has had the intended consequence.

No, they haven't. The 'Spanish Flu' didn't occur in Spain. It was called that because they weren't in WWI, so they were the only country reporting on it, due to wartime security measures.

Yup. I am no fan of the CPC. Chinese people are ok, so long as they are not trying to justify the many crimes of the CPC.

While the provincial government has been drawing my ire, I was referring to the feds.

Not 'always'. Like the article I quoted, Swine flu did not come from pigs, and MERS was a bit generic. Twice impeached private citizen didn't have to call it the 'Kung Flu', it was the racist in him that wanted to. 'Often' is probably more accurate.
