Oh! This must be the surge in border jumper violence Martin warned us about 5 years ago.

Emergency crews were initially dispatched to Duke Street between Frederick and Scott streets on Friday at around 10:30 a.m. to extinguish a car that was on fire.

“At this point, it’s very early in the investigation,” Const. Andre Johnson said from the scene at noon. “We are still trying to determine the cause of the fire and exactly what occurred.”

At around 5 p.m., police announced that officers were at homes on Hearthwood Drive and Grand Flats Trail in Kitchener with Peel Regional Police Explosives Disposal Unit “to ensure the safety of these residences.” Before 8 p.m., officers said the homes were cleared.

    Something I don't get...

The first report was that of a car on fire... no explosion. 1.5 hours later there was still no mention of an explosion. Even if the police don't want to say that there was one... it's Friday, mid morning, in a big city, outside the courthouse and nobody actually heard an explosion. 8O

The last paragraph seems to suggest that there was still an un-exploded something in the car that they saw later.

    I'll say bad reporting.

On that link, I saw these 2 ads...

One is a dating site to find 50+ year old Québec women
The other, a list of the 10 most successful female lawyers in Québec

Both ads show a picture of a woman... different pictures but the same woman.

    Nope. Sorry Martin.

The car explosion in Kitchener that killed one person Friday was caused by an accelerant that was ignited inside the vehicle, not an improvised explosion device as was previously thought, Waterloo regional police say.

IED no longer suspected as cause of Kitchener car explosion, police say
