Ooguri's paper is quite provocative. He is also a good speaker, you can watch some of this talks on youtube from Caltech. You can tell he has been thinking about symmetry for quite some time, his doctoral theses was on Ricci-Flat Kahler Manifold. That too is an interesting read, he came to some postulates before they were even widely considered.
