That's exactly how it was designed.
That's exactly how it was designed.
Sorry, but there is no greater black vs white issue in this country right now. If they're trying to shut us down then they're our enemies, period. This is a war for existential economic survival. Any charity that works to cause more harm to Albertans should probably leave this province altogether and go to Vancouver or Central Canada and set up shop in an environment where they'd be more comfortable around many more of those who think the exact same way. As the old saying goes don't shit where you eat and then complain about the taste of the food.
I don't like having to think this way but this is the new reality. They're either with us or against us. There is no in-between to be had anymore. They launched this war on us with absolutely zero consideration or concern for the effects their activities would cause on the people who live and work here. That they whine about incivility or impoliteness being directed at them, after they deliberately chose to take this course of action, is just too nauseatingly cute for words.

And you have fallen for it. Things aren't black and white. The only for sure thing in Alberta is the boom-bust cycle in the oil patch. Texas doesn't experience this like we do, because they have other economies. Why then is a group an 'enemy' because they suggest diversifying our economy to weather these ups and downs?
And, directly from the article - the University of Calgary is the largest recipient of foreign funding in Alberta. Are they Anti-Alberta?
As the Muttard Trust says, it's a pretty fine line that the Alberta Government is drawing here; tow the party line or get squashed by the machine.
I admit to being an absolutist on this. Just don't tell me that the other side isn't. And, once again, if we hadn't been robbed of over $600 billion in taxation transfers since the 1960's, what kind of more diversified economy could we have built out here? We'll never know, because there was no way in hell they would have ever allowed that to happen anyway. They are against us, period. They always have been and they always will be.
That's exactly how it was designed.
And the precedent for this would look like...
What they aren't talking about are the Koch Brother, or "Alberta Proud".
Why is one kind of foreign interference OK, and the other is not?

Are you suggesting that the U of C should leave Calgary??? Where would they go? What to call themselves???

You guys will win in the end. You have all the important power on your side which will guarantee it. Alberta will lose, because we always do. It's merely the way it is, merely the way life works out. Just try to show some class and not be so goddamn cheerful about it, eh. It's not polite to gloat that much in front of people who will be losing everything.

How does the diversification of Alberta's economy morph into people losing everything?
Give it a rest already, for the first time Alberta is actually starting to fight back against the organized and well funded anti-oil groups. Then crackpots like you start throwing this kind of complete and utter BS around. I am with Thanos on this one, you are either with us or against us, against implies the enemy. FULL STOP.
Yup me too. It's about time Alberta fought back against the Trudeauites and the half wits who support that ideology.

Thousands have already lost everything.
