A francophone school board in Montreal (CSPI) admits to turning down two aspiring teachers, after they refused to remove their visible religious symbols.

    Oh well, I would not want my daughter taught by someone that thought their god required them to hide a part of themselves to remain pure when the men can do as they wish. No thank you.

    I've had teachers that were Nuns... viscous is a good a way to describe some of them. 8O

    Would that law apply to nuns in a private catholic school.

    I don't think nuns do the penguin thing anymore, anyway, do they? They still have a little cap looks more like a nurse's cap though the last time I saw one.

    From my limited knowledge it depends on the order. I saw a nun in full penguin gear last week shopping. Didn’t think anyone did that much these days

    In Québec City there are still a few residences for retired nuns. Most of them don't wear the outfit, but some do. Sad that they are closing the monasteries they lived in for years and they are being relocated to assisted-living facilities.
