A group that started with a goal of defeating Liberals in Western Canada has landed in Ontario. The Canada Growth Council, a free market advocacy group, has launched a series of billboards throughout southern Ontario aimed at convincing voters not to vote
Hope to see some of these billboards gracing the highways of BC soon. People need to be reminded that the little potato is little more than a mouthpiece for SJW ideology and is not nor ever has been on the side of hard-working Canadian people.

I also hope Canadians know these billboards are funded by players in the Oil and Gas industry, and are good with having such companies involved in our elections. Look at all the good they are doing in US elections!

Funding a billboard campaign is a far cry from the funding of a party by outside influences to directly affect an election.

Especially when he keeps telling everyone and anyone that he stands for the 'middle class'.
1) There is almost no middle class left thanks to people like him. 2) The only experience he's ever had with the 'middle class' are the people he saw out the windows of his dad's limo when the elder was PM.

Shouldn't you still be out dancing in the streets after David Koch died?

Celebrating peoples deaths seems to be more of a conservative thing.
Fucks sake can you even avoid deflecting an issue for long enough to debate anti-Trudeau billboards? No, you can't because even those billboards can't give a significant, legitimate reason to vote for an Opposition that offers nothing whatosever Fuck it, I'm 80% gonna vote Green
I partially agree herb. Doc shouldn't have diverted from billboards to troll oil companies. Of course counter-trolls would jump on that one.
I won't be joining you to vote Green though? So you're not NDP anymore then? Hope it's not just because Doc wanted to divert the conversation to those stinky oil barons.
Lots of you NDP-ers jumping ship, I see. Poor Jagmeet can't even find enough socialists to stand as candidates.
In any case Doc's hope to make this all about the oil is most likely based on the kind of BS that spins from a minor fact and tries to make it the whole story.
I did hear some oil guy did donate 10 grand and there are lawyers for natural resource companies involved but where the campaign comes from is more complex.
I've heard in a few places that the billboard campaign started with some Saskatchewan political guys.
Although WestWatch does not have its own website and its social media channels are a little hazy about who is really behind it, the group is run by an organization called the Canada Growth Council.
CGC describes itself as a group of motivated individuals that are simply fed up with anti-growth propaganda, foreign-funded activist groups and the absence of strong voices that advocate on behalf of free-enterprise and prosperity in Canada.
Corporate filings show CGCs three board members all have long and deep ties to the governing Saskatchewan Party:
The filings also show CGCs registered address is located at Kanuka Thuringer LLP, a Regina-based law firm that represents natural resource companies and is also a major Saskatchewan Party donor too the law firm gave $23,200.00 to Brad Walls party in the 2016 election year alone.
We are targeting ridings in the upcoming federal election, CGC told PressProgress, adding that they are attacking any MP or candidate who does not support (Western) industries, our vision or has shown theyd rather support Justin Trudeaus agenda than support their own constituents.
The group said its funding comes from people and groups who support Western Canada, but declined to name names until after the election, noting all donations and expenses will be disclosed according to federal legislation.
I considered voting Liberal for the first time ever, but an utter douchebag got in here by acclamation. A local who fits every single negative stereotype of a politician the righties blather about. The NDP hasn't nominated people in half the fucking ridings yet. And seem to have once again chosen to try and win moral victories rather than elections. The Tories here are still at the opium pipe dreaming of restarting the Enbridge pipelins and sailing supertankers through the Inside Passage. Doesn't leave much choice

Lets just be clear here: the people who destroyed the middle class have been the conservatives and centrists who bootlicked the corporations and the 1%.
Trudeau is no genius or great leader but his government and those of Wynne and Notley have definitely helped the middle class with increases to the minimum wage, increases to publicly funded benefits like CPP and increasing employees rights to take leave from work for maternity, sickness, caring for family members, etc.
Conservatives loudly opposed each and every one of these reforms and in Ontario and Alberta theyve actually begun to roll them back because conservatives ALWAYS put business interests before people.

And now this campaign to bring down the enemies of western industry has spread into Ontario. I imagine oil people would be donating, but so what?
