A Flat-Earther is looking to blast off toward space in a homemade, steam-powered rocket, in a launch he’s dedicating to U.S. President Donald Trump.

This definitely falls into the cateory of "you've got to be shitting me". But, I do wait with bated breath to see if Mad Mike actually makes it off this platter and into space without killing himself and probably the half the residents in his trailer park. 8O

I almost hope that he makes it back after seeing that the world is not, in fact, flat.

But how I think this will end is, in order...
...the rocket will explode before leaving the ground
...he will lift off, barely, before crashing back to the ground
...he'll get high enough to see that the world is not flat before crashing to the ground
...he'll get up, won't come back down and we'll never see him again

Hughes is dedicating the launch to Trump, saying he hopes inspire Americans to make the “country great again.”

Why am I not surprised?

    It was him.

    From the article posted:
The 62-year-old limo driver and amateur rocketeer has gained attention in the past for his launches. He had several failed attempts before his first successful launch in March of last year.

Hughes successfully launched his rocket off a ramp made from a mobile home and scaffolding, making it 572 metres into the sky on the rocket before deploying his parachute and gliding back to Earth.

Ah. I suppose I should have read more of the article.

It’s fitting that this fool is a Trumpist. He can see reality with his own eyes, and still refuses to believe what he sees.

To see the curvature of the earth one just has to take a drive into the countryside in SK on a crystal clear day.

    It's a lot safer.
