Prince Edward Island has become the first province to introduce a ban on single-use plastic bags.

    Good for PEI.

    My city council is "talking about it" and we may see a ban coming next year possibly.

    Yes, good for PEI. In Saskatoon they keep restricting more and more items, making it very hard to recycle.

    You might be to young to remember but back in the early 70's all I can remember is Paper Bags be it the grocery store, shopping centers / malls. The only time I recall plastic bags was for dry cleaning.

    Out of curiosity is there an exemption for plastic bags over news papers. Generally used for rainy and snowy days
