Just two days before the official start of summer, snow has begun falling on an Okanagan highway while wildfires were being fought nearby.

Hope this won't affect the fruit crop too much.

Here's me waiting for my Okanagan peaches. Best in the world in a normal year.

I only know them from that song in the old cartoon, The Jungle Book.

"Oh it's the bear necessities the simple bear necessities
forget about your worries and your strifes

oh when you pick a paw paw or a prickly pear
And you pick the wrong paw
AW next time beware don't pick the prickly kind with the paw
if you want a pear try to use the claw
But you won't need to use the claw if you pick a pear from the big paw paw"

I think the snow is high on the Okanagan connector between Aspen Grove and Brenda Mines. So it shouldn't have any impact on the fruit production.....

I have a bag of amazing apricots on my desk right now. My coworker gave them to me and they are the best I've had in years!!!

Just that the hysteria is starting to become more and more obvious to more people.

Maybe as the hysteria about global warming dies off we can go back to dealing with more pressing environmental issues like plastic pollution, overfishing, the destruction of the rainforests, and etc.

For a pittance of the cost of AGW mitigation we could get one hell of a lot of meaningful things accomplished that would have real and immediately beneficial effects on environmental quality.

This has happened around this time (or even later) every year the past few years, at least. It's not new nor is it that unusual. It got snow in July I think last year.

    True Tricks:

There's nothing new about extreme weather in Canada

This is a little unusual though:

Glacier National Park Quietly Removes Its ‘Gone by 2020’ Signs

    Growing glaciers?

I was wondering why we haven't gotten our annual CBC "OMG the glaciers are melting!" story with somebody standing next to a measuring pole on the Canadian side looking concerned forgetting to tell us that the glaciers were increasingly melting since the end of the little ice age a few centuries ago.

I have a suspicion you didn't read the article, Tricks. Here's a spoiler for you. She tried to make this snow in the fruit belt story about the UN IPCC report that agreed with AOC on how we only have 12 years.

Actually I think they said 12 years to the tipping point but AOC is more fun with her hysteria. Anyway nobody takes "tipping points" seriously anymore. Too many have come and gone.

I remember a trip I took several years ago at the end of May where even in Merritt it was warm and sunny and by the time we got to the summit of the connector there was snow. Went from A/C to putting the heat on in the car.
