The government is expected to announce on Thursday that Canada will join the lunar space mission led by the United States, according to CBC’s French-language network Radio-Canada.
I think Bart is correct, for the first missions at least.
Our current, certified, astronauts will not be applicable, as their current missions end after the training cutoff for this mission.
Our upcoming astronauts, training now, would be applicable, but it could cause a bit of a political shit show here, so I don't know if CSA would even risk it.
Probably going to be the artificial Canadian only (Canadarm 3) until the landing phase of the mission sets.
Being that this is a stepping stone for a manned mission to Mars, I have to ask something that really bothers me. What's the fascination with living on a dead planet? All we have to do is just keep doing what we do here for another couple hundred years and we'll have a near-dead planet without all the added extra cost.
Damn, that's a pretty aggressive schedule.
Watching the little potato announce this yesterday, I could only wish that he could be sent to space.
The moon's still to close, Pluto would be alot more fitting.
No Canadians are going to go to space. Just a robotic arm.

It'll be a trade most likely. The Arm, in exchange for the occasional ride for one of our astronauts. That's usually how it's arranged.

/sarcasm off...or was that cynicism?
