A party founded by former members of the Wildrose Party unhappy with the merger with the Progressive Conservatives have received official recognition by Elections Alberta.
Believe me, I am not at all a fan of the NDP, but I fear the utter havoc the UCP will wreak on Alberta will be a bigger disaster than anything the NDP can visit on this province.

Yup. For example, I know that the NDP have been working to reduce the size of the civil service since they started. Actually, it goes back to Redford, but they continued it. There hasn't been a person hired in this department for years. Now they are combining similar ministries, and collapsing the redundant managers. So one Director is now responsible for the same group across five ministries, and the other four get re-assigned or retired. And no one is coming in at the entry level to learn the ropes to take over in 10 - 15 years when they retire.
But Kenney would cut the civil service 5% across the board just out of pure partisanship, like Klein did. The chaos would be epic!
Not to mention the fact we're spending so much BECAUSE Klein closed hospital's and Schools 30 years ago, forcing us to build new Hospitals and Schools now.
Not that I think they are doing a terrible job. I just am not looking forward to people bitching about them for 4 more years.
