The RCMP announced on Friday that an arrest has been made and charges laid in connection with the April 6 bus collision which left 16 people dead and 13 others injured.
Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, 29, was arrested Friday morning without incident at his residence in Calgary. He is expected to appear next week in Saskatchewan court.
He is facing 29 charges: 16 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and 13 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily injury.
I suspect given the profile of the case, there will be no mercy from the court come sentencing. I'm not sure if they can stack jail time for this like for a murder. I'd imagine he's looking at 24 years at least for this.

I hope her idea of justice is rather.... flexible.
Personally I love the idea of giving this guy consecutive sentences. 16*14= 224+130 (13*10) giving him a total of 354 (new Canadian high score... until Bruce McArthur gets convicted) years to think about what he's done. I'll settle for the 24 years he'll most assuredly do.
She hasn't advocated blood justice for this guy, I'm sure she's quite happy to see him do time.
I don't like that they didn't announce who has been charged. Only way to know if justice is being done is that it's done transparently.
What are we at, Day 90 of the cover up ?

Theres going to be a press conference later today from the Mounties. We should get a name then.
