The 'rake thin' schoolboys, who were found starving but unhurt by two British volunteer cave divers, may have to survive in the cave until October when water levels subside at the end of monsoon season.

Perhaps people will pay attention to the signs out front that say "Do not enter caves during rainy season." :(

'Soon' for a mountain, yes. For a head of lettuce, it is a long time.

Navy SEALs Rushing to Teach Trapped Thailand Soccer Team How to Swim, Scuba Dive

The world celebrated a miracle this week when rescue workers found the members of a Thai youth soccer team that had been trapped in a flooded cave for 11 days. The euphoria was short lived, however, once they realized the team still had a major obstacle to overcome. The boys either have to scuba dive to safety, or wait months for the water level to recede. The monsoon season is expected to last three or four months. The scuba diving seems like the more pressing option, but none of the boys know how to swim. What's worse, the narrow and jagged passages en route to safety could be life-threatening, according to experts, and this week's ominous weather forecast does not help...

    Today's update

Four of 12 Thai schoolboys who became stranded with their soccer coach more 16 days ago in a flooded cave were removed from the underground complex in northern Thailand on Sunday and rushed to hospital, officials said.

The operation to rescue the boys, ages 11-16, and their 25-year-old coach by having them dive out of the Tham Luang Nang Non cave began earlier in the day, with expert divers embarking on the complicated and dangerous mission.
