    Nope.
    Sorry.

The Italians now want their voices heard in Brussels, after 20 years of being sold down the river.

So they will throw a wrench into absolutely everything they can until that happens.

This won't get solved until more important things are discussed,
like the 6 billion Italy is owed for all the scum they have picked up in the sea,
stopping new scum from landing, deporting the 600,000 scum they already have,
oh and some relief from the Euro destroying their country for the past 20 years.

    Little things like that.

    But is important.
Dopey will no doubt tout all the new free trade with the EU to counter
    those dastardly murricans.
Problem is, he still has no deal.

Just can't stop your inner Nazi from popping out on a regular basis, can you?

As I recall the story countries like Canada and America were preventing the Jews from immigrating. (Ship of Fools and all that.) The Nazis let them land. So technically wouldn't the EU be the Nazis?

Oh and let's remember Hitler was pro Islam.

Yeah, because only a Nazi would want controls on undocumented immigrants.

You know a leftist has run out of arguments when he's peaking out from behind the wall, pointing his finger, calling somebody a Nazi.

As to the topic, I have to confess, I'm out of opinions. Italy in its current state baffles me. I can't figure out if I'm for em' or against em'

I don't know how much this one matters. Good for a chuckle though.

The thing is, he never had any arguments to start with.
Herbie is the lingering afterfart in the next room.

    No ideas.
    No arguments.
Just bitching and being a cranky old doofus.

I've a coworker who's originally from Calabria where the local flavor of the mob, the 'Ndràngheta, is lately busying themselves by killing illegal Muslim immigrants who make the mistake of settling in Calabria.

See, Calabria has a very long and bloody history of repelling Muslim invasions and they have a very long cultural memory. Forcing Muslim settlers into the region was a bad idea on an epic scale. Sort of like forcing the Klan into Harlem.

In any case, my coworker says the Five Star Movement (M5S) is not an actual right-wing party but a true incarnation of a leftist fascist party despite their public affirmations of political positions that would appear to be more along the lines of a direct socialist democracy.

Antonio had a lovely and almost lyrical Italian phrase to describe them that would translate as a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'.

And I guess this is one of those things I've worried about with this decades-long push to the left is that eventually it would result in a more dramatic push back.

Things in Italy are indeed so bad that people voted in the party that promises to make them safe for the immediate future.

Now let's just hope they don't build a new military and try to invade Ethiopia again.

Interesting that the mob would be wiping out illegal migrants considering that other arms of their "business" are busy bringing them in to Europe to begin with. Ah well, just a bit of creatively shark-like capitalist acumen on display then, in a good ol' "create your own customer" method in the same way the linkage between the court system and the private prison industry in the United States works together so well for profit.

The Calabrian mob is more into bribery, gambling, drugs, and prostitution.

Smuggling Muslims would give them a bad reputation. I don't mean that to be funny even if it is.

A lot of the other European mobsters, especially the Russian and Balkan ones, have never bothered to be too discerning when it came to making money off of human smuggling.
