After Trump's bilateral meeting with Trudeau on Friday at the G7 in Quebec, Canada, there was no immediate joint statement, but the White House said the talks were a 'great meeting'.

It was going downhill when I first saw it. Figured somebody needed to capture it for posterity.

Time for America to get rid of NAFTA, reclaim their economic sovereignty. Canada can go to the table with some bilateral deals, in the mean time, God Bless America!

Trump is engaging in the fight that some of us cannot.

They've never lost their economic sovereignty.

Dude, you should seriously move there. The RCMP and CSIS can't get you there...

They won't let him in because:

    a) they don't take obvious mental cases
    b) he's on a ban-list for whatever it is he did that got the cops and CRA all riled up at him; the IRS has enough home-grown troublemakers to deal with, they don't need foreign ones arriving and giving them even more work to do

Actually, our friend SC is legally correct. NAFTA, WTO, GATT, and etc. are all examples of nations giving up degrees of economic sovereignty with the intent of obtaining favorable economic agreements.

Granted, the sovereignty isn't 'lost' but rather would be delegated or reserved and as we are seeing with President Trump the reality of the sovereignty not being lost is demonstrated in his ability to exercise it.

Can't they make an exception just this once? Then he wouldn't be our problem anymore....

As you’ve pointed out... the US can literally hold these institutions “hostage” with the threat of defunding them. I’d say your sovereignty is intact.

Sad that less than 24 hours is considered “ageing” in the Trump era.
