    Section 13?

    I think I remember that.

Wasn't that the Kangaroo that Ezra and Mark Steyn slew?

The latest example was a lecture this week by Omar Mouallem, an Edmonton journalist and board member of free expression group PEN Canada, in which he argued online racists have “weaponized” free speech against Muslims, and Canada should consider a new anti-hate law to stop them.

So basically he's just demanding Canada instate an anti-blasphemy law protecting Islam from criticism.

Nice try Omar. Go riot against some Mohammed cartoons so we can see how tedious you really are.

Mohammed was a warlord. Is that racist? Bullshit it is. It's truthful critique.

Mohammed was a pig-fucking homosexual sorcerer who was possessed by demons.

And I'm free to say so.

We fought for that right, purchased it with blood, and we secure it with guns.

In what way did they “slau” it? Looks like they just got a conservative politician to invite them to speak at a committee session

Yeah, this has bad news and 1984 written all over it. I don't trust anyone to properly censure what we say. Sure I hate assholes who spout BS hate speech, but that's already illegal (already a slippery enough slope for me, although I do think it was well instituted).

Anyone who disagrees with unfettered free speech should google "list of lies later proven true".

You mean like when Donald Trump said the NSA and FBI were tapping the phones in Trump Tower?

The media mocked him and now we not only know it was true but that it was all illegal and based upon a lie.

    "Slew the kangaroo," you mean?

Section 13 created Kangaroo courts against speech. Steyn and Levant were both charged under it. They were charged by some sort of human rights tribunal related to Section 13 or under its jurisdiction anyway.

In the process of their opposition Section 13 was defeated and for now, it's gone.

People like Omar and Iqra Khalid want their blasphemy laws though and they won't go away. There's always the danger the insidious Section 13 may be brought back.

Muslims who propose to impose Sharia on non-Muslims should be deported with the utmost haste to whatever shithole spawned them.

...and that's me being nice about it, too.

Section 13 didn’t “create” any “courts” or the CHRT. Ezra was dragged before CHRT for the same reason he’s always being dragged into actual civil law courts...and losing. And he didn’t “slay” it. The Conservative Party did because the Trump-wannabe faction of that party thinks people who engage in the “the communication of hate messages by telephone or on the Internet” are “very fine people”.

Beaver, I think you spew hate messages. Maybe I should get a law passed to silence you?

Criticism of ideas or ideology should never be squashed in any way.

A great mass drowning of conservative snowflakes would do us all a world of good. Large numbers of them should be taken out behind the chemical sheds and shot. With paintball guns. But the paintball guns aren't firing paintballs. They're firing balls of the conservative student's own poo at them. Better get Ezra involved with this to put a stop to me because I'm being all hate-y now.
