Campbell Soup closing 87-year-old Toronto facility, 380 to lose jobs

Maybe the headline should have read "Campbell Soup expanding their plants in North Carolina, Ohio and Texas" because that's what's happening here. What ends up being our loss in jobs and tax revenue are gains for those states and economies.

My guess is that with Trump's tax breaks and anti NAFTA stance we're going to see alot more American companies return home and alot of the Canadian ones jump the border so they don't get left behind.

We are at a cross roads here and certain leaders had better stop worrying about what socks to wear at the next summit meeting or how to distance yourself from a gas plant scandal because, if they don't shit or get off the pot we're liable to end up being that 3rd world country they talk about alot sooner than planned.

The Question: Will the price of soup cans go up or down?

I imagine they'll keep track with inflation. But profits for Campbell's will likely increase as they move production to states with lower taxes and lower overhead.

Haven't had Campbells' soup in years. I can make better.

I haven't bought Campbell soup since I heard they were Halal.

Most of us stopped buying it because it sin't very good. Didn't need to wait for the dumbest reason on the planet.

Carbon taxes broke the campbells back.

Well, hopefully our tard-cousins down south start enjoying The Leading Brand more than ever before.

So far, nobody in Canada seems to want to buy their product. Maybe the truth of the company move is hiding in plane site, as usual.

I can make better too, but it takes time to make good soup, so I still use it once and a while.
