And see the baby carriages in the same shot? Maybe someone has 8 kids under the tarp. Maybe they got them all free sitting under the plastic sheet surfing Kijiji?
And perhaps that guy thinks being dared 'what are you gonna do about it?' will be a valid excuse if he's charged with assault.
Good way to buy sympathy for the homeless, be as big and fishy an asshole and sloppy pig as you can on camera.
If you zip through towards the end of the video the guy complaining about all the bike thefts gets sucker punched and they're pretty proud of themselves for doing it.
It was a shove. Anyway people on both sides sounded like total idiots
Andy T showed up on his bike to yell at the homeless.
And met RomanP who gave him an unexpected shove for his efforts.
But to be honest this happens everytime a city or province in BC allows the homeless to set up a "tent city" and it always follows the same pattern.
First you have the genuine homeless who set up the camp and who are then almost immediately supplanted and held hostage by the drug dealing, thieving assholes who live on the streets by choice but, use the tent city to cover their illegal activities because they know that the City or Province won't do squat about it because they'll be seen as being aggressive towards people who are genuinely homeless.
It's time our politicians got their collective heads out of their collective assholes and sent the police into these places and rousted these supposed homeless victims into jails where they belong. That way the people who were genuinely homeless can at least feel somewhat safer about the prospect of being stabbed raped or beaten by the animals who claim to be there to protect them.
It's a shame that there are assholes who make those that are not engaged in illegal activity look as though they are, or at least supporting it. This is what the general public see by news clips like this and why the general public paints all homeless people with the same brush.
I find it ridiculous that some are refusing to leave the site, upon which housing will be constructed for them to live in, but not until after they leave the site. They are being offered shelter space in the meantime. While the city should have done this a long time ago at least they are making an effort now to do something about the homeless situation.
