George Springer and the Houston Astros rocketed to the top of the baseball galaxy Wednesday night, winning the first World Series championship in franchise history by romping past the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game 7.

Well done Houston. Two records broken in one year. The first team ever to win a divisional title in both leagues and now the first team from Texas to win a world series.

Nice to see Justin Verlander got his ring because despite coming close in Detroit it wasn't gonna happen for him there and the best part is that his former bullpen mate the overpaid hack Max Scherzer still hasn't got one.

Not to mention the remarkable turnaround they achieved. A few years ago they were losing 100+ games a season now they’re the champs

Always great when one of the non-powerhouse teams wins. Makes it more interesting and gives the other teams of the same sort (hello there, Jays!) something to aspire to.
