The City of Edmonton should "freeze" the photo radar program and re-evaluate its use, says Ward 4 council candidate Tricia Velthuizen.

    No need to freeze the program...just re-evaluate new locations while keeping the existing ones live. It doesn't make sense to freeze the program at all.

    Unless you don't assume it's a cash cow. If the program isn't designed to change people's behaviors, then you must assume the purpose is for the income.

    Ending a program that isn't making the streets safer seems like a good use of resources. Creating a new program to make streets safer in the meantime, is the direction they should go. Or just admit they are addicted to the income.
