This story still puzzles me. How do you not know your child is missing, for a whole day?

Probable. The other 4 children were all taken immediately by Childrens' Services. I know they let some pretty bad stuff slip by, so if the home was deemed 'unfit' immediately then it must have been a pretty bad shithole.

Plus, both parents are now charged with some serious crimes, so they might not be out on bail.

And, since stupid CTV doesn't allow a page to be loaded in a frame, here is another link:

The parents, a 43-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, are each charged with five counts under the Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act with causing a child to be in need of intervention, and with one count under the Drug-Endangered Children Act.

Under the second piece of legislation, enacted in 2006, children exposed to an adult's involvement in serious drug activity, such as manufacturing and trafficking, are considered victims of abuse and in need of protection.

    Both parents should be sterilized.
