A study found that 80 per cent of Bohra women surveyed have undergone FGM and two of the study’s 18 Canadian participants said it happened within Canada’s borders.
"uwish" said of course it is, so is male genital mutilation, it's time to stop this child abuse already!
Of all the things in life that I've lost and wanted back, my foreskin is not one of them. Definitely glad to be free of one of those disgusting things.
oh so you had a choice in the matter then? So you were of legal majority in age and decided to have it done? Because if you don't fall into that category, it's genital mutilation.
Technically even if someone did it as an adult it's mutilation, age has no bearing on that. So is getting your ears pierced or a tattoo.
All I can tell you, Snuffaluffagus, is that I've overheard enough girl talk over the years to know women prefer it and the girls I've been with actually make fun of uncircumcised dicks when you anteaters aren't around.
Male circumcision doesn't do any harm, results in better hygiene and better sexual experience for both partners. Female circumcision is the exact opposite on all counts

Unaccustomed as I am to supporting Beave's point, I think this time, I might get it.
He's saying he's been circumcised and he doesn't have a problem with it.
Now if you were to talk to say Ayaan Hirsi Ali she'd tell she had her genitals mutilated and she's not OK with it.
This is not uncommon. I don't have any stats, but I'm guessing if you could ask both sides that would be the average response from most living in a western society.
See the difference?
There are degrees of FGM, but the one that mutilates young girls and deprives the woman they become of sexual enjoyment for their lifetime is not the same as hygienically slicing some excess skin off a penis before a baby boy is old enough to care or remember. It's just not.

Exactly! But I'll add that even supposed "mild" degrees of FGM are harmful, provide no benefit to the victim and exist solely for the sake of controlling and subjugating women
Male circumcision would only be equal to FGM if the entire glans of the penis were removed rendering the penis insensate and unable to contribute to an orgasm.
They are not the same thing and they do not equate.
Any man who says they do need to have more of his dick cut off to get a more accurate understanding of this significant difference.
What a horrible procedure. So completely unnecessary.
I've read in other articles about this procedure that many girls and women suffer with health issues related to it and not to mention the extra horror they go through when they give birth to children.

Nice deflection, medal given !!
We all know only a particular group likes to cut the clitoris' off of young girls.
Must be those damn Mennonites, especially the SOuth Floridian ones.
I just know it's them.
