I don't know what the problem is. Bombardier isn't subsidized it's just their CEO's that are. PDT_Armataz_01_27

But here's the real question. Why are we even dealing with the Super Hornets. They aren't likely to give us much more combat capability since 18 planes constitute a minority of the 130 to 150 we were going to order in the late 70's to replace our antiquated air force.

Besides, if the CBC is right they don't offer alot more than what we have now with the exception of being newer and having a larger combat radius.

Canadian Forces' fleet of CF-18 Hornets has been improved such that the jets' capabilities closely resemble those of the U.S. navy's F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets. The CF-18s can carry the same payload as the Super Hornets and are equipped with identical weapons. The Super Hornets, however, are bigger and lighter than the CF-18s and have a larger combat radius.

Buying the Super Hornets is a waste of money unless of course the liberals are looking for better gas mileage from a lighter aircraft.

Maybe it's time to move on from this idiotic idea that 18 aircraft an air fleet makes and find an off the shelf model that fits our needs and isn't going to destroy what's left of our minuscule military budget.

I wish Trudeau would just buy Typhoons already.

Yes, they are as/more expensive than the F-35, but they are twin engine and just as capable in pretty much every area that counts.
