Politicians don't do nearly the same amount of damage as these 'Sciency Journals' do for the credibility of Science. There is a huge credibility gap out there, fueled by these rags that pretend to be peer reviewed journals. That leads to a reproducability gap, that calls Science itself into question.
Highlighted by the fact that they have Fido peer reviewing medical articles.
If you get your article into some place like JAMA, or AAAS, then it means something. Publishing in 'Maw and Paw's Book of Ciphering' just doesn't have the same prestige, but it's a much lower bar to hurdle to get your name out there.

It's also inappropriate for a peer review report to have the corners chewed off and slobber stains.
