Here's a link to another one:

So if you profile you're a racist, right?

It's hard not to be one then, when you're correct so often.

If I hear Peel police, I think Missisauga. When I think Missisauga I think Mohammadan.

So in this case the link doesn't work, so I search for the story and when I find it what do I see?

"One of the males involved was a tall, thin South Asian, around 24, wearing a grey sweater, green shirt and orange turban. The other male also appeared to be South Asian."

Thanks making me a racist again Missisauga Mohammedans. You couldn't prove me wrong just this once?

    I guess they found her.

From reading the new details my new profile of the situation suggests the possibility you might be able to find her in the future too by checking the Mississauga personal ads on Craig's list.

Muslims don't wear turbans, dummy. Especially orange ones. That is a Sikh.

Now let me cut you off at the pass because I know what youre going to say next about Taliban and others wearing turbans. In that part of the world, a turban is just a hat - like how people here might chose to put on a toque or baseball hat - it is not religious garb for Muslims.

Sikhs are the only religion that wears turbans as part of their faith. I have never seen a Muslim in Canada just walking around wearing a turban, much less an orange one.

    Of course they do, moron.

Turbans are not required of all Muslim men, but those who wear them do so for a variety of reasons. Perhaps the most important reason is in emulation of the Prophet Muhammad, who is believed to have worn either a white or a black turban. Emulation of the Prophet is generally encouraged among Muslims even in seemingly superficial matters such as clothing.

Also we have to consider the accuracy of the description and what we believe. Turban can be a general description for turban or similar head gear. North African for example.

I think there's sikhs who wear them too. And didn't the Muslim Student's association give Malcom X a ceremonial orange turban once. I seem to recall hearing that.

But in any case, I'm not sure that's the point. Let's say it is a Sikh. I'm saying profiling can make a racist correct. They were South Asian, older and they were with a teen girl who's been having discipline problems and hanging around with bad company.

If the one was a Sikh, he's not doing his religion any favors either.

But yeah if Sikhs are getting in on the fun, possibly I will have to tweak my profile of Mississauga troublemakers.

Here's my real point though. When you profile is it necessarily racism or refusal to ignore the obvious.

    I just noticed this:

So you're a racist profiler too, are you. Should I give you the secret handshake?

My profile's a little different than yours. I admit there's a good chance my profile could be wrong on this one, but you know how sometime their beards are neatly trimmed and the turbans clean, often colorful and meticulously folded? Sometimes that's not the case. Sometimes it's more like they just rolled out of bed and that headgear hasn't seen a washing machine in awhile. I always think the clean ones are Sikhs but the others must be something else. That must be wrong. I wonder what explains it though.
