Howard Shore

Howard Leslie Shore was born in Toronto Ontario in 1946. His passion for music led him to become part of the horn section of the Canadian band 'Lighthouse'. He then caught his big-break when he became the first Music-Director for Saturday Night Live. From then on he began writing and composing music for movies such as The Fly (1986), Silence of the Lambs, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Se7en. In 2000, he was approached by director Peter Jackson to write and compose music for his collosal epic trilogy The Lord of the Rings, which won him an Academy Award and other various awards from different ceremonies.
