I thought The Exorcism of Emily Rose was a pretty good movie, all things considered. At times it seemed to get a bit dry with the court room drama, especially in the beginning of the movie, but towards the climax of the story the classic horror elements mix faster with the court scenes andplay off each other, building the tension.
I also thought that the exorcism part of the movie and most of the possession parts were well done. There were, however some things that were a little far fetched like her hallucination of black oozing from people's eyes.
Another interesting aspect of the movie is how the court scnenes are able to polarize the audience and make you sympathize deeply with whichever side you happen to agree with. It also makes you mull over the merits and demerits of the classic argument of fact versus spirituality.
In the end, I wouldn't call it a must-see, but I recomend it to anyone who is a fan of horror movies and also to anyone into demonology.
One, two, three, four, five, SIX! I am the one who dwells whithin!!!!
