This is a movie that requires no introduction. Quite simply, it's the Trailer Park Boys in a 90 minute does on a way bigger screen so you can see Randy's nasty gut in all grotesque glory.
The movie is independant of the series as it follows our boys as they get busted for yet another petty crime and spend 18 months in the slammer. When they are released early (so the prison warden can avoid losing to Ricky's team in jail hockey tourney, they find out things have changed. Namely, Lucy has a new boob job and is working at the local peeler bar and dating the owner (Sonny, played by the lead singer of the Headstones). So Ricky gets it into his head that he needs to pull off The Big Dirty (a big score in a crime) so that he can win Lucy back.
So that's the basic premise. As for the movie itself, it's frickin' hillarious. One major difference from the show is the copious amounts of T & A you'll see. Not that that's a drawback mind you. After all, Bubbles approves. The T&A is largely the doing of the American producer of the movie (along with Mike Clattenberg and Ricky's dad [I forget his name]), and while it's a departure, it doesn't detract from the world of TPB at all. My only complaint about the movie is that it doesn't seem as natural as the Tv show. There are a few instances where it's obvious that the boys are acting and not being themselves.
However, this is still a funny ass movie. My favourite scene is where Leahey chugs a mickey; I could not stop laughing. there are other great moments as well. Also, watch for some Simpsons-like freeze frame fun gags. For instance, a movie theatre marquee where all the movie names are Tragically Hip songs.
