Possibly. I think I tend towards the attention getting approach with the erroneous assumption that he being a kid means he won't be shot.

And what would stop someone from applying an orange tip to the real thing to make it look like a fake...

"He did music. He worked well with everybody. Just something unfortunately happened today that caused his behaviour to go the way it went. So I don't know."

Doesn't even sound like he was all that mental. Maybe not the brightest student, but not some sociopathic bully. Just another one of those inexplicable going off the rails. It might be suicide by proxy. Or it's like that Michael Douglas movie, forget the name.

This is bad for everybody. I'm sure the shooters feel like shit, the family lost their kid, and everybody in the school feels less safe.

I agree with you. If this kid can go crazy, everybody can.

If what is said here is completely true. I can hardly imagine a 15 year old kid mowing lawns for the neighbours for free and fixing kids bikes because he likes them so much. That said, he was not some asshole that was kept an eye on, obviously...
