Gotta agree with you here. Foreign leaders, both past and present should have a certain amount of respect. Does not matter who they are, they should be free to enter Canada without hassle. It's a matter of respect.
Sorry man, I gotta disagree. No one gets a free pass. There was an uproar when Ghadaffi tried to get off his plane while refuelling in Gander. If Idi Amin or 'Baby Doc' had showed up at Pearson, they should have been in cuffs moments later. If Bush were indited by a court we recognize, he too should be arrested on entry to Canada.
It might be a bad neighbour move to arrest a former President of the US, but like every other person wanted by a friendly court in a friendly nation - they should not be given a free pass if Canadians claim to believe in International Justice.
