Yeah right. A.I. would be lucky getting this to fly with a Liberal gov't in power. Good fucking luck with the Conservatives in power

I'm sure they'll be calling for Obama shortly for the "assassination" of Osama's Bin Shotdead.

It won't happen.

$1:
Neve conceded that arresting a former president would likely cause tension with the United States

That's the understatement of the century right there.

The 'tension' would result in a bicentennial re-enactment of the War of 1812.

ROTFL

Not worried, it just makes Amnesty International look like a bunch of complete retards.
PETA quality.

It's a shame, actually.. they could be doing really good and sometimes
needed work, but instead waste a lot of time and energy on nothing.

Gotta agree with you here. Foreign leaders, both past and present should have a certain amount of respect. Does not matter who they are, they should be free to enter Canada without hassle. It's a matter of respect.

My first thought too? 'Course he got plenty of respect while he still controlled all that oil.

Sorry man, I gotta disagree. No one gets a free pass. There was an uproar when Ghadaffi tried to get off his plane while refuelling in Gander. If Idi Amin or 'Baby Doc' had showed up at Pearson, they should have been in cuffs moments later. If Bush were indited by a court we recognize, he too should be arrested on entry to Canada.

It might be a bad neighbour move to arrest a former President of the US, but like every other person wanted by a friendly court in a friendly nation - they should not be given a free pass if Canadians claim to believe in International Justice.

This.

It's simply a matter of international diplomacy that current and former heads of state of countries you're not at war with are off limits.

Unless of course you want that 'not at war' thing to change. Case in point; Libya.

Khrazy Khaddafy was off-limits while peace was the rule of the day but once the balloon went up he was fair game.

If he shows up as a head of state or a former head of state, yes. Does not mean we have to keep him here. Same goes with Bush, he has a right to respect, but wouldn't want him staying very long. Bush does get more of a pass though, as he was head of state for an allied nation.
