Zip, of all the people on this forum I think you are the most likely to post something similar if you ever quit your job for anything less then winning the lottery. :P

Wow, for a guy who claims to be non partisan, he sure manages to hit all the Liberal
talking points really well.

But, of course, there is no left leaning bias in the media.. ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

Perhaps when I was this young man's age, yes. Now I'm past 40, and, like an older friend of mine said on the big day: "40 is when you finally realize what you're up against."

Quitting on a manifesto is kind of like self-immolation--very eye-catching but it only works once. I prefer to try to change from within these days, or, failing that, if I leave I relay my concerns to colleagues and bosses, but other than that I save my breath to cool my porridge.

I've regretted going off in the past, but I can't recall regretting too many times where I chose to keep my mouth shut.

I don't think there is, and I've been saying that here for years, and I don't think I've ever seen much of an argument to support it.

As opposed to the MSM being left-leaning, it's far more likely that your own far right views colour your perception so that you see most news as being left-wing.

For instance:

Top Ten Radio Shows in the US
The Rush Limbaugh Show (22+ Million)
The Sean Hannity Show (17+ Million)
The Savage Nation (Michael Savage) (9+ Million)
Glenn Beck Program (9+ Million)
The Mark Levin Show (8.5+ Million)
The Dave Ramsey Show (8.5+ Million)
The Dr. Laura Program (8+ Million)

Yup--sure looks like nothing but a bunch of commie pinkos on that list.

Delilah (8+ Million)

The Neal Boortz Show (6+ Million)

The Laura Ingraham Show (6+ Million)

He's young, he can get away with it. And if he finds work that is closer to his bliss, even if it's not such a flashy career, then he has succeeded. But if he's working for somebody else, or selling to others, he'll probably have to learn there's a degree of selling out involved in all of them. You don't just get to chart your own course, and the few that manage it are very lucky.

AM radio in the USA is the realm of the right for the simple reason that back in the late 1980's the right was an audience that was seeking a medium. AM listnership was in decline with the rise of FM radio and the die-off of the crowd that listened to Bennie Goodman and they changed and found a lifeline in the right wing audience.

That's business.

Now we see the decline of the liberal/left dominance on television news with FOX being #1 by the simple fact that they have no competition for the right wing audience. Thus they have an entire segment of market share all to themselves while a plethora of other networks divvy up the left wing audience.

Amazingly, FOX has beaten NBC, ABC, and CBS combined for news ratings despite the fact that most viewers pay a premium to get FOX while the others are available for free.

So is the response of the lame stream media to roll with the changes? Nope, their repsonse is to double down and call their potential conservative audience stupid and to consistently taunt, mock, slander, libel, and malign conservatives.

When they one day find themselves in the unemployment line they can at least say they stood by their biases.

As to this kid, I find it amusing that in denouncing the views of a significant number of his fellow Canadians he announces his own left-wing biases.

I'm thinking he did the CBC a favor by leaving.

It's only amazing if you assume a liberal MSM. If FOX beats all other news networks combined, then you should question your assumption about the liberal MSM. It doesn't add up.

He left CTV, not CBC.

And I think you'd have to agree that the various right-wing pundits at FOX and Sun (here in Canada) do plenty of taunting and mocking of their own.

People like their news with a viewpoint these days. It's the news channels feeding the partisan agenda that are the ones making money. The ones trying steadfastly to be neutral are losing money.

[huh]

FOX is the only conservative network in the USA and they get about 50% of the total news audience while the other networks divide the remaining 50%.

As to affirming the ideological difference why do you question my assumpitions? It's people like you, Zip, who are the ones who repeatedly protest about FOX News. If there was no problem with the MSM then FOX would not be anything special, would it?

Say what you want about FOX, they're laughing all the way to Rupert Murdoch's bank.

OK, so even if we accept your assumption that FOX is the only non-left network (which I don't), then you've got a 50/50 split in TV, an overwhelming bias to the right in radio news. So I've got to question the "liberal MSM" just based on this evidence. It doesn't add up.

FOX News is not for people who think--it's for people who want to be told what to think. There's a big market for that. Hats off to Murdoch for recognizing that. I don't agree with Glenn Beck and the rest of the wingnut brigade over at FOX, but I tip my hat to theirbusiness model.

Is there a good reason why everything becomes a left vs right issue here? :?
