Well, everything is according to the headlines of world law. Criminal conviction terms are working only inside of country where crime was done, in some countries they don't exist at all. But if you want to enter another country, which don't want to open the border for ex-sentenced, you can't enter the country. It doesn't matter how heavy it was and how long time ago it was done. The main is that it was a crime and it was done by you.

This has nothing to do with 911,or terrorism. Convicted felons have always been barred from entry. This guy has probally been crossing at a one horse hick town border crosssing for years. Every gaurd there probally recognizes him,and waves him through. One day a new gaurd shows up,and actually does his job. Viola! Welcome to the real world. If you do not want problems at borders,than don't go around commiting felonies like breaking and entering, burgarly, and larcenry. When you are a convicted felon, you lose many rights for life. You lose the right to own firearms,the right to vote,you can be denied a passport and the right to travel abroad. You lose the right to work in many professions. Many locales require you to register as a felon within 30 days of moving to said locale. Failure to do so is a felony. In short being a felon is a BIG DEAL, and fucks up the rest of your life.

It pisses me off that this guy comes to my Country to break the law, and here he is whining to the T.V. camera about how he is getting screwed by the States. This guy has been running through the rain without getting wet for years. Now all of a sudden the same rules that apply to every Canadian with a record apply to him, and HE is getting screwed? That would be like the government mistakenly sending me foodstamps for 50 years.They discover thier error and stop the foodstamps.and then I'm on tv whining about how I'm getting screwed. I also love how the tv crew is diligently doing their duty reporting the story about how paranoid Americans are screwing over Canadians at the border. They fail to report that Canada has even harsher entry requirements for Americans with records. A simple DUI [a misdomeanor in the States] bars an American for entry into Canada. These Americans have to spend a considerable amount of money to apply for a waiver for entry into Canada. Many Americans going on a cruise in Alaska, have been detained in B.C. airports and sent back on the next flight for a DUI. I have yet to see one of these people on my tv whining about how they are getting fucked by Canada. If you can't do the time don't do the crime. Personly I would bar this asshole on the grounds of being a whiner. Lord knows we have more than our share of those living in the States.

Too many people think going to the US is a right, and it's not.

My last trip to Spain, got stopped in Monaco, chatted with the guards for 15 minutes.
Nothing serious, the girl was cute, and she liked my French.

But if you want to enter someone else's country, you play by their rules.. period.

Prisons are full of people that wish they could turn back time. I don't make the laws. A convicted felon is a convicted felon for life,not just 56 years.He can fill out the forms and apply for a waiver like every other convicted felon wishing to visit the States. But he would rather piss and moan to the media,and play the victem card. The article is propagana bullshit,designed to make it look like the States is fucking some poor old man for his youthful indescrestions. The truth is he should have had a waiver 56 years ago. His border crossing is manned by Barny Fithe wannabes.The rules finally caught up to him,and he don't like it.Fill out the forms,and pay the money. I feel no threat from this man whatsoever. Obviously he is no threat. I would have had no problem with him coming to the States. Follow the same rules as every other Canadian with a record {and the same rules as every American with a record wishing to visit Canada}. Don't go whining to the media about how you are a victem for being expected to follow the same rules as everyone else. That shit I DO have a problem with!
