The article doesn't mention it, but we've had at least one person squashed by a boulder there. They weren't so lucky. Then there were the people who drove off the bridge that had been washed away by a mudslide.

Fresh in my mind. Guess that's what happens when you get old. At the time I used to drive that highway all the time in the dark to get to the back country or Whistler, so it made an impact on me.

I think the boulder squashing thing was a little more recent. Poor woman was sitting there 'cause the highway was closed and splat.

Barilko was probably thinking of this more recent incident:
