The situation in Libya is certainly a mess. I read in The Economist there are some 40 allied countries with their finger in the pie and that they are basically ready to force Gaddafi out, never mind the UN resolutions.

I talked to this WWII vet one time and he said "everything is political". He meant that even the operations in WWII had political overtones. That's what his opinion was as a soldier on the ground. The situation in Libya would be ultra political and it's troubling to think about. For example Quatar is shipping oil, a swap with the rebels, so that people in Libya are getting paid.
