So just do it regularly then, and you'll be OK.

I don't think a lot of Americans are going to be overly concerned.

$1: CHICAGO—Sudden bursts of moderate to intense physical activity—such as jogging or having sex—significantly increase the risk of having a heart attack, especially in people who do not get regular exercise, U.S. researchers said Tuesday. So, it's not the sex that kills you, it's the lack of exercise the rest of the time that does. Great reporting there!

Might as well just say, "exercise can kill you".

What it says is that the findings need to be balanced with ones that show exercise decreases heart attack risks over all, but increases it for an hour or two after exercising. Nothing wrong with the reporting, the headline is a bit sensational, is all.

And yes, it's sensationalized. That's my point.

Here is the abstract of the paper: http://jama.ama-assn.org/gca?allch=&submit=Go&gca=jama;305/12/1225$1: Conclusion Acute cardiac events were significantly associated with episodic physical and sexual activity; this association was attenuated among persons with high levels of habitual physical activity. Attenuated, not eliminated. We all know of people who exercise frequently who have heart attacks. The risk of an attack is elevated right after exercise. If you exercise regularly, the risk is lower vs a person who doesn't. OTOH, if you exerice regularly, you're elevating your risk more regularly as well. Actually, the headline is right as far as it goes.

So it's not sex that causes death, it's people being out of shape. Way to grab a headline. Goofs.
