March 24th, in Boston.. should be a good one. :)

Pacioretty will be out for a while, prolly wont make that game.

I still maintain that in cases like this, Chara should be suspended as long
as Pacioretty is off the ice, that will slow these things down.

Sounds like his injury may be career ending. I did my C7 in a similar fashion playing football. I took a delayed hit....and the asswipe got a severely compressed cup.

I've been arguing for that type of punishment for about 25 years now.
Once the league determines there was an intent to injure, the offending player should be suspended for as long as the injured player is unable to return.
And if it's a career ending injury, the NHL career of the offending player should be ended as well.
I love the hard hitting action and the fights, but goonism is something that should be totally unacceptable in the NHL.

COME ON! It was interference. It was a body check to a guy without the puck. Other than Pacioretty not having the puck, it was a CLEAN hit.

Right, that's why the ref on the ice handed out a major penalty and a game misconduct. You don't get misconducts for CLEAN hits.
However, having said that, what I maintained was, after the league determines there was an intent to injure, then the offender should recieve a suspension for as long as the injured player is out.
In this case, the league determined there was no intent to injure.

When there's an injury, it MUST, by rule, be a major penalty. The hit didn't make it a major, the result did.

Go watch the video, and the last bit where you see Chara's left arm coming
to guide the head into the stanchion.

You can see what you like but I see a defenceman finishing his check to prevent a player from getting a breakaway. The fact that he was injured was due to placement of glass and not some pre-determined plot by Chara to break his neck.

So if Chara leaned into him without using his arm and his face slammed into the glass, that's ok?

This type of his has happened how many times this year in the NHL? Tons! Why do we only hear about this one? Cause of whiny Habs fans and the injury that it caused.

And Habs fans, know that piece of shit you have on your team, Lapierre?

Where was the call to the police when he did this?

OR maybe this:

Being a victim of gutless bastards that hit people from behind, do Habs fans call the police if one of these guys breaks their back or neck?

Hell no.

hmm, cheap shots at best, then both players get up and want to fight.

Hardly the same at all.
