Of course more Canadians believe in climate change than Americans...We have brains and can think for ourselves, where as a LOT of Americans will either believe anything their f..ing government tells them, or that it's all a hoax/conspiracy.

And of course, if climate change is indeed mans fault, then America is one of the leaders in polluting our planet, BUT the american peope dont see why their government (or they themselves) should help clean it up. OF COURSE NOT. NO, that would make too much sense

Fortunately, it doesn't matter whether the idiots believe in climate change or not. That's the beauty of science. It's true whether you believe it or not.

Americans as of late have not been strong advocates of science, what is the percentage that feel evolution is false?

Very true! Eventually we'll have to face this problem head on, I just hope it isn't for a long time and I'm watching from somewhere else.

Too many!! I mentioned in my previous post that too many americans will believe whatever their government tells them, but the church is another institution that they seem to believe anything they say.

I think its comes from a perception that truth is democratic, if 1 Million people think one thing its gotta be true, especially if those 1 million look, act and talk just like you.

The problem is that the oil industry is pervasive. It uses its massive resources on "research" then promotes it through its ties to the rightwing media. It attempts to pass off its agenda as legitimate scientific research, perepetuating these lies through the rightwing media. The brainless Beck and Limbaugh crowd doesn't understand the difference between legitimate science and oil-industry "science" and PRESTO, we have climate change denial.

"Climate change."

Right. That's why it's about to snow in San Francisco for the first time in over 30 years.

Indeed. As many of us on this site have observed some of you folks "believe" in global warming (or whatever the hell you're calling it now) regardless of the paucity of facts to sustain that belief.

Meanwhile, to prove that global warming theory is actually a scientific theory your side of the argument has to provide what set of data would disprove it.

We're waiting. :|

See, every proper scientific theory has a proof that can be disproved. Absent that it's just what you called it: an unfounded belief.

Yet another BS poll commissioned by a couple of groups who are driving an agenda. They some how seem to magically connect the dots to conclude that "73 per cent of Canadians would be willing to pay at least $50 a year in extra energy costs so more renewable energy could be produced." with out actually asking those polled if they support that position. What a bunch of rubbish. Christ, most Canadians get pissed off when the price of gas goes up 3 or 4 cents let alone paying an extra $50 a month.

Big diff between $50 a year and $50 a month. Which is it? Gas going up 3 or 4 cents, what does that add up to a year - if you drivesay 20,000 km a year, and average 10(l)/100km that's 80 bucks a year.

As for Americans causing most climate change, until we can get our ghg emissions per capita down below theirs I'm not sure if we should be throwing stones.

Come on, Bart. You're smart enough to understand the difference between climate and weather.

That retort proves my earlier post reagarding oil-financed research.
