They should just forget the beef label and call it what it is: seasoned laxative

$1:
The USDA requires “taco filling” to contain only a minimum of 40 per cent fresh meat, WSFA reports.

LOL. They can't even meet the shitty 'passing' standard of 40% and instead crapped out at 36%. And the TeaBirchers want to eliminate the FDA as part of the government downsizing push to get rid of 'excessive regulation' over 'honest' businesses.

And the sadder part of the story is that millions of loyal Taco Bell customers are now anxiously wondering where they'll get their recommended daily dose of 'anti-dusting agent'. The tile grouting aisle at Home depot perhaps?

The problem was they ran out of road kill. They have to resort to using McD's?Wendy's/Burger Kings etc. time expired throw outs.

Where's the beef?

Certainly not at Taco Bell and probably not at any fast-food joint.
With a 40% minimum beef content, enjoy the other 60% of "non-meat extenders” next time you sit down for that Taco, Whopper or Big-Mac. PDT_Armataz_01_32

Nope. I tried Taco Bell once. I think 36% may be a bit high.

Of course not.
When they say "Contains 100% pure beef", it's not a lie... at least not technically.
40% of 100% pure beef, plus 60% filler. 8O

Taco Bell is nasty. I was watching a Denny's commerical the other day and I sez to the wife "You know it's bad when you can't even make your food look good on TV." Same with IHOP and Jack-in-the-Box.

I like Subway, but I'm sure there'll be some expose about what they're serving one day.

This is kind of like hotdogs. They have to add dairy to hotdogs to get the protein level up enough for it to be officially labelled as a meat product. When I was doing my MA, there was a guy in my program that ate Taco Bell all the time. We had shared office space for all the grad students in the Dept. of Economics. He'd bring his Taco Bell take-out into the office, which would totally stink the place out for hours after. It became so bothersome that we made up a sign reading "NO TACO BELL" and hung it on the office door. From that point on I've referred to it as "Taco Heinous". Disgusting.

I love Taco Bell! It is still my favorite fast food place. Eat it all the time, never had any problems with it. However, the worst Taco Bells I have been to were ones in Canada

The 100% beef is exactly that, the whole cow gets ground up, bones and everything else. Filler not required.
