I was pretty happy when I heard this. For a while I thought for sure council was going to sell off all the planes.

Now all we need to do is fix up the museum itself and we'll have an attraction worth seeing.

Wow, a Mozzie and a Hurricane! Rare aircraft indeed and forever linkec to the RCAF.

A lot of young lads from all over the world trained to fly these aircraft at airfields all over Alberta and the rest of Canada.

Yeah we can get the Bombardier plant here to fire up the Hurricane production line again. Maybe toss in a few of the Curtis Helldivers they made here as well.

What's sad is that the Mosquito will probably have it's first certification flight long before the F-35 enters service anywhere.

I just got the Battle of Britain on Blu-Ray. What a movie!

Seeing all those real aircraft (as opposed to CG stuff we see now) is amazing.

One of my most favorite movies!

I was at the Farnborough Air show in 2000 where they had an "Anniversary Fly Past" which consisted of a Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane. Sent shivers up and down my spine!

Yep, that’s the RAF's BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight). They have about 6-7 Spits and 3 Hurricanes, and of course the Lanc.

I feel very fortunate to live close enough to the Warplane Heritage Museum in Ontario to see the Lanc and other old warbirds, fly frequently above our skies.

The throb of four Merlins is something else. I'm a frequent visitor to the museum and my kids love going.

Here in Sacramento we get the occasional fly by of a B-17, B-24, B-25's, and assorted fighters. My wife is now at the point where she just accepts the fact that when I hear a radial engine that I will sprint outside with the binoculars to see what it is. I never tire of hearing those wonderful planes in flight.

I've got to climb inside the Lanc in Hamilton a few years ago when they had it stripped down a bit and up on blocks...............HUGE beast. I've seen it fly by low and slow a number of times. When the Canadian Open was the the Royal Hamilton GC in 2006 it did a low pass that rumbled the ground. This past summer when it was here doing the cross country tour it flew over my house a few times on it's way out west.

When I was a kid there was a privately owned Spitfire Mk.IX that would fly around the city from time to time. Later in life and currently his son is a friend of mine. His dad flew one in WWII and bought it out of Belgium(?) His wife always nagged him about how dangerous it was etc. Which is odd since this time no one was trying to kill him while in one. In the end he donated it to the National Air Musuem in Ottawa which is where it is today.

I do the same thing......although we never get the heavies like that around here. Chino, CA has a wonderful collection of warbirds though!
