Yet she still loves her son. She doesn't want to see her son die in a war that is not needed as of today.

Isn't going to Afghanistan voluntary for Canadians? I don't think she has any right to tell her grown son what he can and cannot do.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Well, she can dissent and oppose and do what she freaking
wants, she doesn't have to sit back and accept a war just
because her kid got swept up in it. And no one can tell
her what she can and can not protest...

You make it sound like "awww shucks he just got with the wrong crowd..." Canadian soldiers are professionals, they go to places like Afghanistan because it is their job. If she wants to thrash around because he is leaving let her, but dont think that her voice carries more weight because her son is a soldier.

I'd disown my mom if she did this when I was coming back from overseas.... Nice of her to put her name in the paper too so all of his buddies know that she was doing this. Sure that he'll appreciate that too.

If her son wasn't a soldier you'd be complaining that she should shut up because she has no dog in the fight. Fighting for democracy in Astan, but in Canada, not so much. We each get a voice. If she and her son disagree, that's between them. Bet he loves her anyway.

Read the bold text

Im saying that because she pushed out a person who decided to join the military does not give her an informed opinion into what the military should do. If she wants to spout out her political agenda and use her sons name to get her some attention, by all means she can do that. Dont think for one second that her opinion should be respected for doing so.
