Brenda Brenda:
Like I said, it's not new. My daughter, then 8, was patted down 4 years ago.
If kids are used to smuggle drugs, is it too far fetched to say that they will be used to blow up planes? You call it a false analogy , I call it a risk that is there.
I don't call it that, that is the definition of the method you used to argue. Example:
1. A has properties x, y, and z
2. B has properties x, y, and z
3. A has property p.
Therefore, B has property p.
Or:
1. Hitler practiced vegetarianism.
2. Liberals practice vegetarianism.
3. Hitler was a fascist.
Therefore, liberals are fascists.
That is a False analogy.
There is a risk any of us may be hit by a falling meteor today. It's unlikely, but there is still a risk. What sort of life would it be if we all lived worried about insignificant things?
Are people who smuggle coke likely to blow up planes? If they did, how would they smuggle coke? No, coke smugglers are unlikely to blow up planes. 15 year old white girls are unlikely to blow up planes. 30 year old radicalized middle eastern men are likely to blow up planes. 15 year old girls are likely to smuggle coke, but only a hard core 15 year old would be able to hide that from a person trained to recognize deception in a person by having a simple conversation with them.
However, 23 year old underpaid and overhormoned boys are likely to want to feel up a 15 year old girl. And they are allowed to. It boggles my mind that people continue to argue about how much inconvenience and public humiliation
people sheep are willing to endure for this security theater, instead of demanding to fix the overpriced system that does absolutely nothing for anyones' security.
