Buddy relax, accidents happen, you weren't convicted of anything therefore no reason to need to "clear your name", employers cannot ask if you've been arrested, only convicted, a security check won't show anything related to charges that don't exist anymore.

Choban, he still has $3000 in legal bills that should be paid by the Scotia Bank. After all their employees gave the false info that got this guy arrested in the first place.

I think he's going to be a rich fella when his lawyers get finished... maybe more than what the robbers got.

I can see chasing the bank and trying to get his legal bills paid for but "clearing his Name" as stated in the article is not nessessary in his case as there was no conviction.

Well yeah, there is nothing to clear, you're correct. He was not convicted of any crime.

He may be just a little pissed that his face and name was publicized in the news as a bank robber. I would insist anyone who reported that, prints or airs a retraction and apologizes.

Then steer towards the deepest pockets, which is the Scotia Bank.

The police are not to blame, they had an eye witness, they had to do their job.

Arrest records don't show on criminal background checks (to the best of my knowledge). I base this on the fact that I had an arrest for possession that never led to charges and it didn't show on my background check.
