I especially liked the line by the defence lawyers telling clients to not plead and hope that it gets delayed long enough to be thrown out. Proof again that defence lawyers are scumbags. How about a little accountability?

Lawyers have to do what's best for their client. That's how the system works, and they can be sued if they don't. Nope, I blame the gummint for this one.

+1 that's the scumbags defence lawyers job, but it's not the gubmint's fault. The rules of evidence have become so convoluted and ritualistic that they must be followed exactly and in a specific order, and even not following the process can result in dismissal.

It's all the courts' fault there.
