It's a fucking holding cell, not a damned hotel room.

When I worked in the RCMP holding cells up north, the cameras were installed so that the prisoner was always visible, including when using the shitter. The cells often had more than one occupant so privacy wasn't possible, or even a consideration.

If all the cells are being occupied, the women are kept together, and all the cops could do was tell them to stop. In an extreme situation, they could have handcuffed them, I guess, but then they'd likely get shit on for doing that. I remember once, going into the detachment, and one of the constables asking me, "Have you ever seen a Trout and a Duck fuck?" These are common Cree surnames. You also never knew who had HIV or TB when they were spitting at you, or if they were bloody.

One thing is for sure, you sure saw some 'interesting' sights. Some girl trying to drown herself in the shitter was likely one of the funniest ones.

Ok this is going off of 10yrs ago when I worked corrections in Texas so laws can be very diffrent. Inside a jail be it holding cell all the way up. Sexual intercourse/contact is forbidden. Under no circumstane is there ever to be sexual contact. Where the guards failed was in not stepping in and stoping the woman and if they did not complay they should have seperated them.

Thing is this goes on almost every night in every drunk tank in the world drunk females getting it on. So why the big news event on this one. There is a mention of HIV for one of the woman and thats the only reason I could think of and even thats uncomfirmed.

Police later said they believed at least one of the women was too intoxicated to legally consent to sex, and the officers had a duty to ensure the women came to no harm while they were in custody.

the one woman admitted to the RCMP and the jailhouse staff she was HIV-positive when she was threw in the drunk tank. now when she was having sex with another female who was drunk and did not give her consent to the act because she was drunk and perhaps contracted HIV.

Both these women were in the custody of the RCMP,and what did they do??

If the cops had gone in to break it up, people would be up in arms about that. And since they're dykes the cops would be called homophobic. If you don't want to be watched having sex in jail, either don't get yourself thrown in jail or don't have sex. Simple, really.
