Yeah, a tour around the North is a lot easier and cheaper than actually investing in the capabilities to operate up there.

Just more PR opportunities for another politician...big deal. Call me when he announces something that he didn't last year or the year before.

It's like the CEO doing a tour of a plant he's about to close.

Like I said, lots of photo ops...

$1:
Harper dances into the heart of Inuvik

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has posed for countless pictures and given several speeches across the north this week.

But on Wednesday night he literally stepped up his campaign to promote sovereignty in the Arctic: He danced.

Around 300 people packed into a stuffy recreation centre in Inuvik, NWT, waiting for a glimpse of the visiting prime minister.

What's with the drive for Arctic sovereignty now? You would think that we would make a stake in it a long, long time ago.

If this guy could do half of what he promised,I would be seeking his nomination for the President of the United States. We could work out the whole citizenship thing later,(wink wink, thats nothing new). But seriously folks you Canadians are being led by the preiminant politician in the world today. The world has not seen a politician of this calibre since slick Willy.A conservative running liberal Canada? Saying all the right things? Doing a decent job?Standing up for Canada. Whats not to like? I wish my country had a Harper at the helm right now!I would trade you 10 Obamas for one Harper any day of the week, and twice on Sunday!

If he loves the Arctic so much, he should move to Iqaluit and represent Nunavut.
