Nice find Sock.

While we sit and play with oursleves, the Chinese are taking Africa; no political BS needed.

One day we are going to pay for our stupidity.

That China has been involving itself heavily in getting into Africa is fairly old news, and that they are expanding what has been going on for years is not surprising either. It's been quite a few years that China's actions within Africa have been garnering news articles of substantial size -- I don't expect for China's involvment or expansion into that region to slow down any time soon, personally.

I made a mistake when I posted this. It's not Canadian content.

Not sure how to correct it.

Anyhow, regarding this topic, there are many questions surrounding China's involvement in Africa.

Chinese settlers in Africa will face backlash if they are exploitative, but will be praised if they bring jobs and economic growth. If they stay out of politics, they'll be even more popular.

Time will tell.

Yes, so much for the de-colonialization BS, although the Chinese will call it something else and the UN will applaud being the whore house that they are.

It's true man. Everywhere I look and go, all I see are Chinese folk.

The same can be said for whites and blacks.

The black diaspora is growing rapidly all over the globe, and even inside China.

So it may be two way cross pollination, obviously a bit asymmetrical due to economic reasons.

One or two blacks, a handful of whites occasionally, but when outside I can't walk more than a few feet without bumping into hordes of Chinese. Even when I go into the country, all I see are Chinese people.

Perhaps if the West had bothered investing in Africa they wouldn't have had to go cap in hand to China. Instead, we stood around and did nothing (well maybe feeling guilty for the past couple of hundred years) to help develop the most undeveloped part of the planet.

Anyways, what's the big deal, most of our 'aid' comes in the exact same form (contracts to Western companies instead of helping develop industry in Africa).

"The Chinese government has long been accused of ignoring human rights and other issues in its quest to embrace governments and secure resources in a modern scramble for Africa." Sounds British, French or american if you ask me!
