So ya... Why not just put the little ba$tard down? I mean if this was a bear or something there would be no question.
Don't see the problem, obvioulsy going to be another useless meat-sack.

I dont thinking killing is the answer. First off after you are found guilty of multiple offences, any further charges should be laid as an adult. If Billy steals a car and goes to juvey, gets out and does it again, it is obvious that the light sentence didnt work. Second, the parents of the child should also be named and given 'how to discipline your child' classes. If nothing else it is inconvenient and embarrassing.

$1: Fancsali, who said she knows of the teen and his troubled background, says that she hopes he is not only punished for his crime, but also gets the long-term treatment he desperately needs.
“If they go to jail I want to see them putting that time into treatment. Not short-term treatment, but long-term treatment,” she said, adding she hopes the sentence isn’t a “slap on the wrist.”
“It’s time to put a stop to these things.”

If the child is a psychopath, it's not the parents' fault. That's the way the kid's brain is wired. There is no rehabilitation, there is only incarceration. The kid can't grow a conscience.

He'll get two weeks in jail and counseling and then back on the streets he'll go having learned the invaluable lesson that he can get away with stuff like this.

I'm all for funding Psychopath Island that's somewhere in the middle of Hudson's Bay. Sounds mean until they move from stealing your panties to killing you.

not to get technical or anything but he said psychopathy which is actually different than sociopathy, which is the term used in the thread title. Actions like this kids don't fit psychopathy. They are the ones people end up describing as "He was such a nice quiet neighbor and friend, very bright and empathetic." For psychopath see Colonel whats his face pantie collector. Psychopaths are less a product of their environment and its more a from birth wiring thing while sociopathy can be blamed more, yet not fully, on the upbringing.

Fixed I know, let's just tell ourselves stories that nothing can be done, just write off kids, lock em up for ever or better yet kill them. I think we're the ones making the excuses.

I think taking away his real life and putting him in prison for a good deal of time might be enough to do the trick. Rehabilitation is also an option, but I think the suffering from being so isolated does in effect heal some people. Or, at least put them in that miserable state of mind, wherein they can fully realize the consequences of their actions.
Mind you, if a prisoner becomes numb to that misery, it ceases to have any sort of rehabilitative effect. But then, it could be argued that at least we are still protecting society??

What I don't understand, is why are these little bastards allowed to coniue on in anonimity? Put their names out in the public so that everyone in their neighbourhoods knows who they are. A little (whole lot?) of public humiliation may go a long way to deter some of this ridiculous behaviour. I also agree that parents need to be providing discipline, making sure little Johnny nutcase doesn't get his own way all the time!!! Accountability for your actions!!

He needs to be locked up for a good long while. But in a place where he's shown a better way to be, nut just treated like dirt, and given the opportunity to change. Unfortunately we don't do this. We either give him a slap on the wrist, which tells him he can get away with it, or we lock him up with hardened criminals who teach him that iguana killing is just kid's stuff.
